GE Healthcare to showcase innovative healthcare solutions at the K-HOSPITAL FAIR 2018
Broad portfolio of new hospital solutions, ranging from premium digital mammography to ultrasound, patient monitoring and anesthesia systems, to ECG device
Sideline program Leadership Session co-designed with Korean Hospital Association will focus on sustainable hospital management
Seoul, August 6, 2018 – GE Healthcare Korea (hereinafter GE) announced today it will share insights on sustainability in hospital management alongside its presentation of a wide range of innovative healthcare solutions to enhance clinical outcomes and hospital productivity at the K-HOSPITAL FAIR 2018 which will be open from August 8 at COEX in Seoul.
Among its products on display, Senographe Crystal Nova (MFDS approval pending), a high-end digital mammography system featuring GE’s leading-edge technology for exceptional image quality and convenience, is designed to improve overall productivity and work performance at hospitals and clinics. Senographe Crystal Nova equipped with GE’s premium digital mammography technology can efficiently detect dense breast calcifications that are commonly found in Korean women.
OEC Elite CFD to debut in the exhibition is the first premium mobile C-arm to deliver better image quality at low dose on the 4K UHD monitor with a CMOS Flat Panel detector that supports a continuous fluoroscopy mode.
Invenia ABUS (Automated 3D breast ultrasound) is the only breast professional ultrasound device that has received FDA approval, and by designing a concave probe to fit the breast shape of a woman, it improves the image quality and reduces the pain of the person undergoing the examination, leading to an increase in diagnostic accuracy and convenience. According to the Radiology, a leading academic journal, mammography in combination with the ABUS can increase the probability of detecting tumor and other abnormalities in female patients with dense breast by an average of 27%.
VENUETM, which is dedicated to the emergency intensive care unit, is equipped with a shock management function to automatically measure the cardiovascular system of patients. It has a 19-inch full-touch screen and a rectilinear interface, allowing medical teams to conduct examinations easily and quickly in any situation. Even though it is a portable console type, it can be used for up to four hours to immediately implement high-resolution ultrasound images as needed.
Vscan Extend, an upgraded version of portable ultrasound system Vscan, enables a real-time conversion between black/white anatomical images and color-coded blood flow images through a touch-screen monitor, which allows for a faster diagnosis. It also improves diagnostic accuracy with high-resolution images and stored images can be shared among healthcare professionals through a cloud system. With a shorter time to booting and actual visualization, the new system is helpful to emergency crews who need to make a quick decision on the spot. For these advantages, it was widely used during the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics held in February.
B125 and B105 patient monitors, equipped with advanced clinical algorithms, enable patient care by allowing clinicians to monitor the vital sign of a patient in a fast and accurate manner. In particular, the monitors are available with differentiated functions including arrhythmia analysis support, 168-hour trend storage, up to 200 snapshots and direct HL7 outbound. Its simple design with touch-screen functions makes it ideal for the use in various hospital areas such as operating room, recovery room, intensive care unit, endoscopy room.
Cardioday, a 24-hour ECG monitoring system, along with GE’s Seer 1000 7 days Ambulatory ECG recorder, can record the patient’s heart rate for seven days and deliver more accurate ECG analysis results by using a new analytical algorithm for advanced atrial fibrillation analysis in pediatrics and patients with an artificial cardiac pacemaker. When used in combination with SEER 12 to allow for a 12-channel ECG analysis on top of the existing 3 channels, Cardioday can keep record of 12-channel ECG for up to 48 hours, which is expected to be helpful in the diagnosis of arrhythmia.
Carestation 650, a compact, versatile and easy to use anesthesia system, features a respiratory system design that can block internal moisture generated during the operation. The respiratory system part can be removed easily for steam sterilization after anesthesia, which is helpful to improve infection control at hospitals.
On the sidelines of the fair, GE Healthcare will hold a leadership session jointly with the Korean Hospital Association, focusing on sustainable hospital management through innovations. EC Chung, a leadership coach from GE Korea and Kwang-hee Jang, Chief Growth Office of GE Healthcare, will present cases of breakthrough hospitals and implications for the healthcare service community, where hospital innovations are urgently needed to improve medical and research performances as well as outcomes through patient-focused care, based on survey results to show that global leaders are confident about innovation-fueled growth and are preparing for the future through disruptive innovations.
“GE Healthcare is delivering hospital solutions and innovative technologies to support sustainable growth of healthcare providers in Korea, and we hope this K-Hospital Fair 2018 will provide an opportunity for active discussion on ways to boost the competitiveness of hospitals and explore new innovations in healthcare solutions,” said Francis Van Parys, President and CEO of GE Healthcare Korea.
GE Healthcare’s exhibition booth is located at Hall D (D101) of COEX in Samsung-dong, and the hospital management leadership session will be held in the seminar room 2 at 1:30 pm on the opening day of August 8.
